INTRODUCTION

All world religions emphasize earning your way into God's good graces. Do this, don't do that, and you're in. Unfortunately, many people have thought this way about Christianity--that it is about living a good life so that you'll make the cut. But a closer look reveals a much different picture of who is invited in, which means there's hope for everyone.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. Have you ever been a part of an exclusive organization (perhaps a secret club as a kid or a fraternity in college)? Who did you let in? Who did you keep out?

  2. Read Romans 3:21-22. Is Christianity exclusive? Who is allowed in?

  3. Read Romans 3:23. Can you ever be good enough to measure up to God's standard?to fill in the gap between you and God? Can anyone else?

  4. Read Romans 3:24-26. How has God filled in the gap?

  5. What do we need to do to gain the righteousness (right standing with God) that God offers? Have you taken this step? If so, when? If not, why not?

  6. Is this righteousness available to everyone, no matter what they've done or who they are? How does this make you feel?

THINK ABOUT IT

How does the message of Romans 3:21-26 impact your daily life?

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Is there someone in your life who has yet to accept the righteousness offered by God? What can you do to make them aware of this gracious offer?

CHANGING YOUR MIND

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:22-23
