INTRODUCTION

Perhaps more impressive than any of the miracles in the Bible is the Bible itself. A collection of 66 books written over a span of 1500 years by over 40 different authors, the Bible remarkably tells one single story. In this session we'll discuss eight words that will help us understand this grand narrative and how it gives each of us context for our own stories.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. How does it help you appreciate the Bible when you understand that the story of the Bible is a story of redemption?

  2. What does Creation {Genesis 1-2} tell us about God and the world we inhabit?

  3. When have you experienced the Brokenness {Genesis 3-11} caused by Adam and Eve when they broke God's one rule in the garden?

  4. What did the Promise {Genesis 12-50} God made to Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3) reveal about God's unfolding plan for humanity?

  5. What do you learn about God and His desire for us in the Law {Exodus-Deuteronomy}?

  6. What does it say about humanity that despite all God has done, Israel chose Rebellion {Joshua-Malachi}?

  7. How have you experienced the Grace {Matthew-John} offered by God through Christ?

  8. How does the Spirit {Acts-Jude} lead us in living redeemed lives?

  9. What about Eternity {Revelation} do you look forward to the most (Revelation 21:1-5)?

  10. How does God's story give you context for your story?

THINK ABOUT IT

How does it make you feel to know that throughout the centuries God has been authoring a story of redemption? How does it make you feel to know that as a participant in that story, God has reached out to you and offered you redemption?

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

How should you live, now that you find yourself in the last chapters of the story of redemption?

CHANGING YOUR MIND

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ?Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. Revelation 21:3
