This was an eye opener for both the men and women in our group. We went through this book with the men and women split in order to facilitate a more gender-specific discussion. We did not use study questions, but simply read a chapter or two a week and then came and discussed thoughts and ideas stimulated from the reading. Group discussion flowed freely, despite the lack of structure that questions provide.

Great as a couples study or for a women's group.

This is a must read for every father!

The guys in our group who have 'father issues' really got a lot out of this study, but the rest of us found the Field Manual pushy. The hardcover book is insightful and a good read, but the Manual sort of takes the approach: 'Tell me why everything in my book is true in your life. Oh and if you think any of it doesn't apply to you, then you're in denial. -Love, J. Eldredge' That message was pervasive and distracted several of the guys from what they might have otherwise learned from it.
